Pittsburgh & Lake Erie 565 at McKees Rocks, PA – Photo by D. W. Davidson

Cabooses pictured: 565, 513, 516, 556, 514, 50?, 518

The overcast sky provides a fitting backdrop for this line of retired Pittsburgh & Lake Erie cabooses at McKees Rocks, PA. Among these were four cabooses that would soon be rescued by Fr. Edward Schleicher – P&LE 513, 516, 518 and 565. Our transfer caboose, P&LE 565, rests serenely at the forefront.

These fantastic photographs were captured by railroad photographer Doug Davidson. You can view more of Doug’s exceptional work on flickr.com.
