Garbage Trains to Golden Blooms: A Day of Contrasts

It was a day mixed with work, exploration, and trains. With the weather finally cooperating, we were able to tackle some much-needed spring cleanup around the property, starting with the trails. After the recent storms, branches and debris were scattered across the driveway and paths, but we made quick work of it. We also tidied up the platform area, blew away leaves, and sprayed for weeds growing around the cabooses.

Exploring the Falls

We hiked down the main ravine to explore the base of our waterfall. Despite being careful, I fell a couple of times on the damp leaves. Along with a few old tires and some rusty buckets, we found several interesting artifacts including an old yellow railroad sign, part of a telegraph pole, and a couple of discarded shoes. Caboose Falls is an amazing place. – CPC
